The life cycle of a butterfly.

The Monarch Butterfly

This is about the life cycle of a Monarch butterfly.  The life cycle starts as a tiny egg changes through different stages, turns inside out and becomes a butterfly.

The life cycle begins with the female butterfly attaching the egg near to a milk weed plant. She lays it there so when it turns into a caterpillar it has something to eat. The egg is tiny, round and has ribs. The ribs are the lines on the egg.The egg is also green.

When the Caterpillar hatches it’s long like a worm, it has striped patches and has spine-like hairs. As it eats and eats the caterpillar sheds it’s skin off and grows more. It’s skin can shed off four or more times.

When the caterpillar is fulled of food it turn inside out and turns into a chrysalis after a few weeks the Chrysalis changes colors. When the chrysalis goes see threw that mean it’s about to hatch into a butterfly.
